Many people think that counselling under a Mental Health Care Plan can only be provided by a psychologist or clinical psychologist. This is not true. I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW). AMHSWs are recognised providers with Medicare Australia and other programs, delivering clinical social work services in mental health settings and utilising a range of evidence-based strategies.

My professional background is in trauma informed practice and have highly specialist skills in family intervention. Prior to moving into private practice, I was a Senior Caseworker with Department of Family and Community Services in Maitland. Prior to this I was the Social Work Manager for Upper Hunter Community Health and before that was a Senior Clinical Social Worker in Palliative Care and Chronic Disease with Cessnock Community Health. I am deeply committed to providing high quality counselling for people who cannot afford to access this and who do not meet the criteria of NSW Health services.’
